Flores, from the Portuguese, which means "flower" in East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. Flores included in clusters along the Lesser Sunda Islands of Bali and NTB, with an area of about 14,300 km ². Population in Flores, in the year 2007, reaching 1.6 million people. The highest peak is Mount Ranakah (2350m) which is the second highest mountain in East Nusa Tenggara, after Gunung Mutis, 2427m in West Timor. Flores, with area, population and natural resources and human well considered adequate, is now preparing herself to be an expansion in East Nusa Tenggara province. At the western end of Flores Island and east there are several small islands. In the east there are clusters of Lembata Island, Adonara and Solor, while to the west there are clusters of Komodo and Rinca Island. Ethnic Flores is an ethnic mixture of Malays, Melanesians, and Portuguese. Due to the location adjacent to the East, once a Portuguese colony, then the interaction with the Portuguese culture in cultural Flores never happened, either through genetics, Religion, and Culture.
