Drs. H. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla (born in Watampone, Bone, South Sulawesi, May 15, 1942, age 67 years), or often just written or JK Jusuf Kalla, is a former Vice-President of Indonesia, who served on from 2004 to 2009 and General Chairman of Golkar in the period the same. JK a joint presidential candidate Wiranto in the 2009 election which brought the Golkar and Hanura.
Jusuf Kalla was born in Watampone, Bone regency, South Sulawesi on May 15, 1942) as the 2nd child of 17 siblings [1] of the pair Haji Kalla and Athirah, which has a Bugis descent entrepreneurs flag Kalla Group business. Kalla family business consists of several group companies in various industries. In 1968, Jusuf Kalla, became CEO of NV Hadji Kalla. Under his leadership, NV Hadji Kalla than just developing import-export business, expanding into the areas of hospitality, construction, turnover of vehicles, shipping, real estate, transportation, shrimp farms, palm oil, and telecommunications. In Makassar, Jusuf Kalla, known familiarly called by the public with a call Ucu Daeng.
Kalla student organization experience, among others, is the Chairman of HMI Branch in 1965-1966, Chairman of the Student Council University of Hasanuddin (Hasanuddin University) 1965-1966, and Chairman of the Presidium of the Indonesian Students Action Unit (WE) in 1967-1969. Before entering into politics, Jusuf Kalla, has served as Chairman of the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadinda) of South Sulawesi. Until now, he still serves as Chairman of the Family Alumni Association (IKA) in alamamaternya University of Hasanuddin, after deliberation re-elected in September 2006.
Jusuf Kalla has served as minister in the administration of Abdurrahman Wahid (President of the 4th), but dismissed allegations of corruption involved. Jusuf Kalla again appointed as Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare under the government of Megawati Sukarnoputri (President of the Republic of the 5th). Jusuf Kalla later resigned as a minister because he ran as candidate for vice president, accompanied the presidential candidate Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
